Skin timeline: why have a day and night routine?
The whole organism follows a biological rhythm … this is also the case for our skin. Divided into 4 distinct phases, cutaneous chronobiology provides the skin with the care it needs at the right time. Discover without delay the good gestures to have for an ultra effective day and night routine!
What happens when you wake up?
Our epidermis acts like the rest of our body and follows a very precise biological clock. The process follows one another continuously in 24 hours. It is the duration of a circadian cycle where the skin goes through 4 different phases.
Upon awakening, the skin is still in its resting phase and shows no activity. Thus, its hydration rate is very low. On the other hand, the level of cortisol is on the rise, which makes the skin more easily prone to attacks, in particular to inflammation.
It is not uncommon for redness and small irritations to be observed on the face in the morning. This is why every morning, it is recommended to apply protective care that will serve as a shield against aggressions such as the sun, the wind and pollution. But before applying this type of product, it is advisable to remove make-up from the skin (even without make-up) using a gentle product such as Micelliance micellar water and to cleanse it with a cleansing treatment such as gel Cleanactyl cleanser. This double cleansing guarantees a certain pH balance of the skin.
Don't forget to apply moisturizer and sunscreen afterwards. Prefer a cream or lotion rich in vitamin B such as niacinamide (active ingredient is very important for strengthening the skin barrier and deeply moisturizing the skin) or a treatment incorporating suitable sun protection such as our HRB-3 anti-dark spot day care .
How does the skin behave during the day?
As the day progresses, the level of hydration of the epidermis gradually increases. In the early afternoon, when the sebum peak is reached, the skin is visibly oilier. It's no wonder then that by late afternoon she looks dull, lackluster.
To combat grayish complexion, simply apply a little mattifying powder during the day to reduce the shine in the T-zone.
It is also possible to apply suitable treatments, generally lighter, which will absorb excess sebum and boost the skin's radiance. It is strongly recommended in these cases to apply a mist or even an anti-pollution lotion with an energizing effect on the face.
What process does the skin enter into at night?
Once the day is over, the skin is covered with all kinds of impurity particles: excess sebum, sweat, pollution, etc. But what really happens at night? Melatonin levels are at their peak, oxygenation and micro-nutrition are at their peak. At the same time, the skin loses water. This whole process makes detoxification possible because the epidermis is ready to regenerate. This is called cell renewal of the epidermis.
For all this to take place, it is very important to cleanse the skin well at night so as not to suffocate it and to make it more receptive to night care . Know that the night is the best time to use a targeted treatment according to the needs of your skin: oil or anti-dark spot, anti-blemish oranti-wrinkle serum .
At Nubiance, we offer a night care rich in active ingredients, the HRB-3 hyperpigmentation corrector night care which has both moisturizing and nourishing properties. This cream has the power to detoxify the skin and boost collagen production so that in the morning, the skin is plumped, hydrated and smooth.
How to make your night care effective?
A nighttime routine can only be effective if the sleep is restorative. Otherwise cell regeneration will not be effective. Everything must be put in place to create an atmosphere conducive to sleep:
- Stop all screens at least 30 minutes before bed
- Ventilate the room for 5 minutes before going to bed
- Set the right temperature to avoid overheating the room
- Use aromatherapy to promote relaxation and sleep
Finally, if you want to prolong the effectiveness of your treatments and actively participate in cell renewal, remember to regularly cleanse your dead cells. We recommend performing a gentle exfoliation once or twice a week depending on skin type. Our Exfoclear exfoliating gel is a real gem for your skin. It combines enzymatic exfoliation and mechanical exfoliation to eliminate dead cells and unclog pores. Your skin will be smooth and clear for several days!
You now have the keys to ensuring the most effective day and night routine!
